The biggest global competition in the fields of technology and space was held in Sulaymaniyah, and the Kurdistan Students' Association hosted the competition which NASA had organized for its partners.
This is the first time in the Kurdistan Region and the second time in Iraq that NASA has organized such a major global competition. As always, the Kurdistan Students' Association supports students and those interested in
science, and for this purpose, they organized and prepared the venue in Sulaymaniyah for this major scientific challenge.
The competition was held under the name (NASA International Space Apps Challenge - Slemani). It is an annual global hackathon that lasted for two days, taking place on (October 4 and 5) in the Titanic Hall.
In the first stage of the NASA challenge, 10 teams participated, with each team completing a challenge to succeed and advance to the next phase to participate in the major global competition.
The challenges are determined by NASA teams, and the participants work on developing systems and software using data and information provided by NASA as their source.
The NASA team, along with several supervising professors, helped evaluate the teams' performance. Only one team out of the 10 will remain to participate in the global competition in the future.
