The Kurdistan Students Association Participated in the 76th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China

The People's Republic of China celebrated its 76th founding anniversary in Erbil, and the Kurdistan Students Association participated upon an official invitation, with their representatives in attendance.
On the evening of September 16, 2025, in the presence of senior government officials and diplomats, the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was held in Erbil. The Kurdistan Students Association was invited as a main partner of the Chinese Consulate. Herêm Isma'îl and Renu Ari were present at the commemoration representing the Students Association.
Liu Jun, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in the Kurdistan Region, welcomed the attendees in a speech and said: "Today we gather here to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. On behalf of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Erbil, I extend a warm welcome and my thanks and appreciation to all of you who are present with us. Over the past 76 years, we have shouldered our responsibility for ourselves and the world, continuously advocating for multilateralism and free trade."
In another part of his speech, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China noted that for many years they have contributed to nearly 30% of global economic growth and are a major trading partner for more than 150 countries and regions.
He also mentioned in his speech that in the last two years, the Consulate General has facilitated visits to China for more than a thousand Kurdish citizens from various sectors of the Kurdistan Region. Furthermore, this year the number of people from the region who have received Chinese government scholarships has reached a new high.
In conclusion, he stressed the importance of strengthening relations and said: "We are committed to the path of mutual benefit and mutual gain, we are committed to expanding high-level openness, we are committed to sharing the new opportunities that China's innovation offers with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and we will be committed to supporting economic growth and social development in the region. And through our coordination, we will write a new chapter of cooperation."
