The Kurdistan Students Association Participated in the General Conference of Social Democratic Youth in Morocco

The Kurdistan Students Association, upon an official invitation, participated in the General Conference of Social Democratic Youth, which was held in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and lasted for five days.
The conference was held with the participation of representatives from Arab and international states. From the Kurdistan Region, Nasrin Kanaan and Chenar Fuad were invited as representatives of the Kurdistan Students Association, where several panels were held, and issues of women's participation, culture, and social development were discussed.
One of the conference's panels was dedicated to the issue of women and their participation in the administration of society. Nasrin Kanaan, as a representative of the Students Association and a panelist, pointed to the issue of women in the Kurdistan Region and mentioned that after the 1991 uprising, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Students Association took on the issue of protecting women's rights and social justice as a national issue and have played an important role in the development and participation of women in decision-making centers. She also noted that women now have active participation in the administration of the country and various sectors of society in the Kurdistan Region. For this, she cited the role of Ms. Hero Ibrahim Ahmed as a symbol of a strong and resilient woman who has served Kurdistan greatly, as well as Nuksha Nasih, the Governor of Halabja, and Rewaz Fayaq, the former Speaker of Parliament, as examples who were the first women to hold these sensitive posts and have a significant impact on decisive decisions, along with many other women who have major roles and positions in Kurdistan and the PUK.
Preserving and developing the region's culture was another theme of the Students Association representative's speech. In this context, she mentioned that Kurdish girls and women now play an important role in preserving the national heritage and enriching Kurdish culture and heritage, and women constitute an important part of cultural and national activities.
On another note, the representatives of the Kurdistan Students Association had a productive meeting with Mr. Imad Hussein, the Ambassador of Iraq to Morocco, regarding the activities and efforts of the Students Association to serve the educational process and students. In this regard, the Iraqi Ambassador stated, "We praise your efforts and hope that in the future, through the Students Association, we can do greater work for the students of Kurdistan and be able to obtain study scholarships for students at major universities in the world and Arab states."
