After 10 groups of students participated for two days in a global NASA competition in Sulaymaniyah, one of the participating groups won first place and became the winner of the event.
The members of the winning "Yeksar" group were Zanyar Azad Salih, San Sirwan Abdullah, and Mir Abdulmutalib Yasin. The goal of their project is to predict the weather for all regions of the world based on NASA's data from previous years, specifically using data from between 2020 and 2024.
The "Yeksar" group were the winners of the NASA
International Space Apps Challenge - Sulaymaniyah. The group had chosen the
challenge "Will It Rain On My Parade?", which focuses on weather
prediction by utilizing NASA data from the past several years.
The "Yeksar" group built their project as a
website that operates in Kurdish, Arabic, and English. Furthermore, it can
interact with all smart devices and is easy for the user to benefit from.

On the user's main interface, they select a location along with a date, which then displays four predicted data points: probability of rainfall, average temperature, wind speed, and humidity level. After visiting the location, the user can write an evaluation, which can be used as data to better predict the weather in the future.
The Kurdistan Students Association hosted this competition, which is organized annually by NASA and was held for the first time in the Kurdistan Region. In this competition, a group named "Yeksar" emerged as the winner, successfully overcoming the challenges.
